Things to Do

Sights!

Quarry Hill Nature Center

Plenty of trails and trees, as well as a center where you can learn all about our local wildlife.

Ear of Corn Watertower | Workshop
Our iconic watertower, and the food hall next door. Fun fact: Virginia was publicly shamed by a letter to the local paper when she called the tower a "corn cob" watertower...she was in 5th grade.
Cascade Lake
Cascade includes one of our county's manmade lakes (we have no natural ones), a 2ish mile loop, and a fun playground.
Peace Plaza/Galleria
One of the centerpieces of downtown, within easy walking distance of our public library, civic center, Historic Third street bars, and many Mayo buildings.
Northwoods Apple Orchard
The best orchard in the Rochester area, if you are interested in apple picking or trying a corn maze.
Mayo Clinic Buildings: Gonda, Plummer, Mayo
Ask Steve Nowakowski for a tour! These buildings showcase some Mayo Clinic history and beautiful artwork.

Eats! (and Drinks!)

Flapdoodles
Amazing ice cream! Our favorite flavors: Zoo in the Goo, Smores, and Raspberry Cheesecake.
Nupa
We love Greek food, and this restaurant is a solid local option mere blocks from Jeff's apartment.
Tap House
Come for the beers, stay for the cheese curds. There are two locations, "West End" is closest to the Stone Barn, and the original is downtown.
Bitter and Pour
Looking for a fun cocktail? Check out this downstairs "speakeasy" on the same historic street as Tap House. You will have to solve a riddle to enter.
John Hardy's
A Nowakowski family favorite -- the local barbecue joint.
Victoria's Ristorante | (or Sorrellina's)
Another Nowakowski family favorite for when we want Italian, but we don't want to cook.
Jack's Bottle Shop
Jeff's favorite spot for beer: features a wide selection of beers curated by a personable staff.
